Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate | Is it worth the hype?

Kiehls midnight recovery concentrate is there miracle night time serum which is a replenishing facial oil that claims to visibly restore the appearance of the skin by morning. The concentrate aims to leave your skin feeing refreshed and radiant. If you haven't heard about the oil before where have you been? This night time oil has been a favourite for many for quite a while. Which is no surprise due to its replenishing and restoring properties. Due to the amount of make up available and worn these days this little oil should be an essential in your skin care routine. The oil will assist with the replenishing of your skin to bring it back to its natural state. This is perfect if you find heavy make up effects your skin by making it dry or oily or even just congested.

We have heard so many amazing things about the concentrate but is it really worth the hype?

The midnight recovery concentrate is a serum. Which means it should be applied under your moisturiser. However due to its nourishing and replenishing effects the concentrate can be worn on its own without a moisturiser. Applying a serum before you apply moisturiser will aid the effectiveness of your moisturiser making it much more beneficial to your skin. The serum will assist with the absorption of the moisturiser and help it to penetrate into deeper levels of the skin. You would therefor be moisturising deeper layers on the skin.

But why is the kiehls midnight recovery concentrate different from other serums? Yes it aids the penetration of moisturiser into deeper levels of the skin and makes the moisturiser more beneficial. But the kiehls serum does not just aid the moisturiser it also has beneficial properties of its own which help to recover and replenish the skin whatever state it may be in. This means that you can use the concentrate as a moisturiser. Due to these properties the serum is for night time use only - this is when your skin is at its best to recover from the day.
How to use the concentrate::

The concentrate comes in a glass bottle with a pippet. With a button on the top of the lid one press will provide you with enough serum which you will need. This will be 3 drops (it can be more if you have a larger face or feel like you need slightly more product). However, you want the product to absorb into the skin and not sit on the surface of your skin so make sure you don't apply too much. A little goes a long way.

You will need to rub the oil into the palms of your hands and press onto the face. This way you know you will have enough for the whole face if you press it all over to start with instead of starting in one place. Once pressed all over the face massage into the skin. You should be left with soft gliding skin which is not oily. From here you can apply your chosen moisturiser if required - it does not have to be a kiehls moisturiser.
But is it worth the hype?

YES! After using the concentrate for a couple of weeks we can see what all the rave is about. The concentrate was easy to apply and absorbed into the skin effortlessly without leaving an oily surface. We found that 3 drops of the oil was plenty to cover the face. Meaning the product will last for quite a while. Once we applied the moisturiser to the skin afterwards we found that it glided onto the skin with ease. Not much moisturiser was required as our skin felt nourished from the concentrate.

The next day your skin should feel refreshed and radiant. Kiehls claim that after one use your skin should look younger by the morning. This is due to the concentrate enhancing your skins natural night time recovery process.
The concentrate can be purchased in two different sizes. However due to the fact you only need 3 drops at a time the oil will last you a long time. If you are a lover of the oil then I would suggest purchasing the 50ml bottle as it is better value for money and will last even longer.
