How To Spend A Day In Gothenburg

Visiting Gothenburg and don't have much time? Then this is the guide for you and if you do have more time then here are a few helpful ideas for your trip.

Airport Bus
The easiest and most affordable way to get from the airport to the city centre. You can buy your tickets for the bus from an easy to use machine inside the airport and then the bus is located just outside of the building. Once on the bus there are four different stops in the centre that you can get off at.

Hard Rock Cafe-
As part of a restaurant chain you can find a Hard Rock cafe in a lot of cities around the world. This is a great lunch or dinner option with lots of american themed options to choose from.
The Haga neighbourhood is one of the oldest areas of Gothenburg with the building dating back to the mid 17th century. The Haga is a beautiful street lined with timber houses; boutique gift shops and cafes.
The Garden society (Trädgårdsföreningen)-
The garden society is located in the centre of the city and is one of Europe's beautifully preserved parks. The gardens contain an amazing cast iron palm house filled which you can enter for free and is filled with hundreds of tropical plants. This has been a popular attraction since 1878.
The largest science museum in Scandinavia and a great day out for all of the family. Filled with aquariums; an indoor rainforest and safari area where you can get up close to lizards, insects, birds, sloths and several monkey species.
Magasinsgatan (Shopping)-
A trendy neighbourhood where you can find anything from vintage clothing to interior design. Also filled with plenty of places to get coffee and grab something to eat from one of the gourmet or traditional Swedish restaurants.
We hope this is helpful for your trip to Gothenburg!
Love Megan
